Light-Weight Environmental Monitoring Buoy

CAD rendering of buoy as assembled. Solid Works rendering of the Light-Weight Environmental Monitoring Buoy, as deployed near the South Bay San Diego ocean outfall. Visit the data products page or our real-time buoy diagnostics page for your data needs.

CAD design diagram of buoy as assembled. The schematic illustrates how this small form-factor buoy gets its light-weight description. Even so, the buoy still manages to serve two purposes as a currents profiler and CTD sensor. Measurements are telemetered back hourly via Iridium satellite, while buoy drift is monitored via onboard GPS.
