HF-Radar Network

HFRadar Network (HFRNet) is being developed to manage and distribute in near-realtime ocean surface currents measured by a distributed network of shore-based HF radar systems. HFRNet provides reliable data telemetry, archiving, and integrated processing for a growing list of near real-time products in a scaleable manner for a growing user community supported by the Integrated Ocean Observing System.

Emergency Responders: We are releasing a specialized KML file containing HF RADAR RTV data for the Gulf of Mexico spanning May 1, 2010 to present time, while necessary. This file is intented to provide additional support for emergency responders aiding in the Deepwater Horizon oil spill response.

Optimally Interpolated 6km hourly data is available as a separate KML for the Gulf of Mexico region in support of the spill response efforts. These data provide a gap-filled version of the real-time combined total vectors. A GNOME NetCDF format is available via FTP.
