Coastal Observing Research and Development Center

CORDC

Established in 2003, The Coastal Observing Research and Development Center (CORDC) focuses on the development of new technologies and their application to basic and applied sciences. As a sea-going research group, the Center serves as an interface between research and technology development within local, state, and federal government agencies as well as industry partners. CORDC is part of the Marine Physical Laboratory which supports research associated with national security interests.

CORDC specializes in robotic systems, sensors, autonomy, and data analytics. The Center has experience with complex field measurement programs around the world and develops expeditionary sensors and maintains their data networks. Educational opportunities for undergraduate, graduate, and postdoctoral researchers are provided through participation in R&D projects.
